Experience & Education
Dr. Maria Hoffman-Guardia received her medical degree from the University of Panama, School of Medicine. More so, she did her Pediatric residency as well as a one-year training on pediatric critical care medicine at the University of Miami/ Jackson Memorial Hospital. Going from Central America, all the way to the United States allowed her to become a fluent bilingual speaker in both the English and Spanish languages. Dr. Hoffman- Guardia has been part of our community in the Rio Grande Valley for over 12 years. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

In addition, not only is Dr. Hoffman a medical professional, she is a wife to Dr. Juan Guardia, a mother to two children, a daughter, and a sister. She is an extremely family-oriented individual, dedicating her life to not only her family but to her patient’s families as well. She not only emphasizes the curing of her patients but as well as their well-being emotionally and physically throughout the rest of their lives. She will take the time to look at your child’s situation and answer any and all questions you have. It isn’t just about the cure of her patients, but also about the prevention of disease, health education, and counseling which can help the health of her patients for the rest of their lives.
